jessica-cox-armless-pilotBorn without arms, the 26-year old Jessica Cox can do almost anything – even flying a plane up to 10,000 feet. Jessica is the first female armless pilot to be given a lightweight aircraft license. Not only that. She could do almost anything, a woman with complete extremities could do.

The 26-year old Filipino-American pilot recently arrived in the country with her family for a vacation, as her mother Inez, a nurse from Samar will attend a reunion with former classmates. Jessica’s American father, William, is a retired band teacher.

She’s really an amazing woman. During her younger years, Jessica excelled in gymnastics, swimming, and dancing. And now, she does everyday activities like cooking, washing the dishes, and driving her own car. Another thing that impresses me, aside from being a licensed pilot, is that Jessica has a double black belt in taekwondo. Pambihira!

A psychology graduate form University of Arizona, Jessica is a motivational speaker who travels around the state to offer her services in teaching and helping people with disabilities. With all these, Jessica is a living proof for the saying that nothing is impossible.

When asked about her motivational services in an interview for the website www.azstarnet.com, Jessica compared it to flying and said, “It’s the same way I feel when I fly. I am empowered, and it’s incredible.”.

Incredible, she really is. Do you think she’s pambihira? No doubt.
